Abu Dhabi Commercial Properties (ADCP) continues to implement a child safety programme to install fall-prevention devices on residential home windows and balcony doors. Only months after the programme’s inception in January, ADCP has already successfully installed over 129,380 safety locks in 961 residential towers throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
ADCP is the only major property management company actively installing the safety devices designed to enhance safety by restricting the opening size of a window or balcony door. The devices regulate hinges to open a maximum of 10 cm in accordance with Decree No. 24/2012 issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs. ADCP expects to install more than 260,000 window safety devices by the end of the year.
Mr. Abdulla Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Managing Director, ADCE/ADCP, said, “We’ve made great progress to make Abu Dhabi homes safer. We continue to ask residents to cooperate with our engineers and allow them access to their homes in order to install the devices and make their homes safer places for children. We look forward to our ongoing work within the community, and we will complete our ambitious project with everyone’s support to create a safer home”.
The initiative is part of the property management firm’s efforts to curtail further incidents of young children falling from windows or balconies within their managed buildings.
