Al Rostamani Trading Co., exclusive authorized distributor for Suzuki Automobiles in the UAE, has announced its participation in the upcoming Abu Dhabi International Motor Show, one of the longest-running and most prestigious automobile exhibitions in the Middle East, which will run from December 17 to 21, 2008 at the iconic Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre.

Al Rostamani Trading Company will feature select models during the event, including the new improved Grand Vitara and the all new SX4 sedan, and the ever popular Swift. The automobile distributor will also announce the opening of its 2nd workshop in Abu Dhabi’s Mussafah district. The new workshop features state-of-the-art equipment, the latest automotive maintenance and repair technologies coupled with well-trained staff. It includes specialized facilities for body-repairing and paint finishing for Suzuki vehicles.

Mechedjian added that Al Rostamani Trading Co. achieved a phenomenal 180 per cent sales growth in the UAE during the first 10 months of 2008 compared to the same period last year. Major contributors to the impressive growth were the improved Grand Vitara compact sport utility vehicle, which integrates a newly-designed petrol engine, a redesigned powertrain, new acoustic materials, additional rear disc brakes and a tougher and sportier exterior; and the ever popular Swift, which incorporates numerous safety features customized for Gulf driving conditions. The two vehicles figured prominently during Al Rostamani Trading Company’s participation in the recently-held International Automobile Show at the Expo Centre Sharjah.

The Suzuki SX4 sedan, available in 1.6 or 2.0 liter engine, and automatic or five-speed manual transmission versions, is powered by a four-cylinder 16-valve Dual Over Head Cam engine at 143 horsepower. The vehicle includes various safety features suited for the Middle East’s varied road conditions, such as four-wheel disc brakes with an anti-lock brake system integrating electronic brake-force distribution; passive safety equipment highlighted by a reinforced body with front and rear crush zones designed to help absorb impact energy; two standard airbags for driver and front passenger; seat-mounted side-impacts; and additional safety measures for outboard front- and rear-seat passengers.
