Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, met on Tuesday, a team of senior homicide investigators from the British Metropolitan police, who contributed to the arrest of the suspects involved in the brutal attack on the three sisters Emirati at their London hotel back in April.

At the time, Abu Dhabi Police sent two teams to the United Kingdom, as per the higher leadership’s directives, following the shocking assault on the Emirati nationals (Ohoud, Khuloud and Fatima). A first team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was dispatched to follow up on the case and the criminal investigations, in cooperation with the British authorities. The second team, from the Social Support Centers Department, was in charge of providing psychological support to the victims of this tragic accident.

His Highness Sheikh Saif praised the efforts of the joint team of Abu Dhabi Police and the UK’s Metropolitan Police to uncover the circumstances of the attack and identify the assailants, including the main suspect who attacked the three Emirati sisters with a hammer. Furthermore, His Highness Sheikh Saif lauded the distinguished security cooperation between the UK and the United Arab Emirates authorities.

The meeting was attended by Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters; and Lieutenant Colonel Fares Al Bakiri from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Abu Dhabi Police.

It is worth mentioning that the two British officers, namely Detective Superintendent Carl Mehta of Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC), in charge of the three Emirati sisters attack case and Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers, who led the investigations, will deliver a lecture during a series of workshops. This lecture aims to highlight the role assumed by the joint Abu Dhabi Police and Metropolitan Police criminal investigation team in identifying the perpetrators and uncovering the mystery of this horrific criminal case.
