Abu Dhabi Education Council, ADEC, has re-opened registration for new Emirati students, and others with special dispensation, in kindergartens and public schools in Abu Dhabi for the academic year 2014/2015.
Parents must register their children in public KGs and schools for the coming school year 2014/2015 in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi within the specified registration period. Students must be registered between June 2nd - 13th, 2014.
Dr. Amal Al-Qubaisi, Director-General of ADEC, said that, "Our main concern is to enable all students who were not able to register due to unavoidable conditions to be enrolled in schools and to facilitate the registration of students transferred from other emirates to Abu Dhabi in schools located within their residential areas." Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of School Operations at ADEC, said that enrolment process will be carried out through various electronic systems launched by ADEC School Operations Sector in order to facilitate the registration process and ensure accuracy of data.
"Student registration via Emirates ID was approved by ADEC and IDs have been linked to eSIS to enable schools to access and directly save ID information to the system. The new registration process allows school staff and parents to save time and efforts and minimise the need to use paper. Only documents showing student's home addresses is needed", he added.
ADEC has also announced that the child's age for admission at KG1 shall be 4 years on December 31st of the admission year. As for KG2, the age shall be 5 years on the same date. For G1, the minimum age shall be 6 years while the maximum age shall be 8 years on December 31st of the admission year.
