Colonel Waleed Salem Al Shamesi, Director of Police Schools Department at Abu Dhabi Police indicated that a new batch of the country’s citizens and protectors of security joined the Police Schools Department, in its Suwaihan headquarters on Monday. The new batch includes 70 recruits who will attend the Basic Training Course No.94 for new police officers.

He also noted that: “the course is considered one of a series of courses that provides recruits with all the needed knowledge and skills to qualify them for police work in pursuance of Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy. The strategy focuses on refining capabilities in the field of work and compliance with the standards of excellence in providing police and security services to all segments of society.”

Colonel Al Shamesi added: “The new recruits will undergo a probation period after the end of the 24weeks course in different fields of work in various departments of Abu Dhabi Police. This aims to allow assessment of their application of what they have learned, and evaluate their assimilation and performance improvement in accordance with the best international practices in the field of training and qualification.”

Moreover, he stressed the department’s keenness to enhance its training philosophy by adopting initiatives that contribute to improving the training process such as e-learning. He also pointed out that the adoption of the education curricula has concluded in order to allow the new recruits to complete the official hours of their postgraduate studies in colleges and universities.

It is worth mentioning that the new recruits’ course No.91 completed the graduation requirements, andthey will undergo a probation period at the police departments to which the recruits were distributed.
