18 Talented UAE Nationals Graduate From FGBs Management Trainee Programme, Nujoom
(21 May 2014)

18 talented UAE nationals from the second batch of FGB’s ‘Nujoom’ fast-track management trainee programme recently graduated during a ceremony held in Abu Dhabi.

The Nujoom programme was launched as part of FGB’s strategy to build and strengthen a sustainable pipeline of talented Emiratis and prepare them to take on managerial positions. The main aim of the 18-month programme is to expose young, talented Emirati trainees to a diverse range of the bank’s business functions through structured departmental rotations.

Noora Al Reyasi, Vice President and Head of the UAE National Development at FGB, said: “In addition to gaining ‘on the job’ experience and knowledge about the various departments within the bank, the Nujoom programme enables trainees to identify their strengths and a clear career path through privately-held, regular advisory sessions. The programme also features interactive modules which incorporate business simulations, group work, projects, assessments, and individual as well as team presentations.”

On completion of the programme, the trainees are well-equipped with the necessary tools and business acumen to excel in his or her chosen department. Opportunities are available to graduates across the business, from Consumer Banking, Treasury, Information Security and Corporate Affairs to Wealth Management, HR, IT, Wholesale Banking and Finance.

Abdulrahman Saqr, Senior Vice President of HR and Head of Emiratisation at FGB, added: “The scheme is an important part of FGB’s medium to long-term Emiratisation strategy, which is aligned to the bank’s growth plan and vision to strengthen the bank’s pipeline of talented Emirati professionals by developing their skills and enabling them to take the next step in their careers. We’re very pleased to see our second batch of students successfully complete the Nujoom programme and I’d like to extend my warm congratulations to each of the graduates.”

The Nujoom programme is currently in its third phase and the bank is in the process of welcoming its 4th batch of students to the scheme
