Budget Rent A Car won the coveted ‘UAE’s Leading Car Rental Company’ recognition at the 21st World Travel Awards, dubbed as ‘the Oscars of the travel industry’,which were presented in Dubai at a gala ceremony attended by the Who’s Who of the travel industry.
The award, voted by travel and tourism professionals worldwide, was in recognition of Budget UAE’s commitment to excellence demonstrated in the last 12 months. Budget scored over four other competitors that were nominated in the UAE’s Leading Car Rental Company category of the prestigious annual awards.
Salim Damji, Senior General Manager, Budget Rent a Car UAE, and Paul Mitchell, Regional Director Middle East, Budget International,received the award at the spectacular ceremony held at the J. W. Marriott Marquis Dubai.
“This award celebrates the successful implementation of our innovative strategies focused on putting the customer first,” said Salim Damji. “We are particularly thrilled to receive this recognition because it is based on votes of professionals from the global travel and tourism industry. We always take pride in keeping our finger on the pulse of customer preferences, as reflected in the recent addition of the new Chevrolet Trax to our fleet, as well as introducing the high-end Chevrolet Corvette and the Chevrolet Impala.”
Budget Rent a car, a member company of the UAE-based Liberty Group, has 22 outlets across the UAE. It recently opened a new location in Warwick Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, and more branches are scheduled to be opened during the year in Dubai, Al Ain, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
Budget UAE is an ISO 9001 company, among the few in the industry to hold such certification. It covers service standards as well as Budget’s dedicated vehicle maintenance facility, to ensure swift and efficient maintenance of the large fleet.
The Middle East Gala Ceremony was the first regional round on the annual World Travel Awards Grand Tour, and the winners qualify for the Grand Final to be held later this year. The Dubai awards night recognized some of the finest companies operating in the travel industry, in categories such as Hotels & Resorts, Travel Agencies & Tour Operators and Car Rental Companies.
