Brigadier Mohammed Rashid Al Shamesi, Vice Chairman of Al Faraj Fund at the Ministry of Interior hailed the efforts of the UAE Red Crescent Authority in supporting the Fund’s humanitarian programs. He also expressed his deepest gratitude and evaluation for the Authority for choosing the Fund as a major partner in organizing the third edition of the Ataya Annual Exhibition. The third Ataya Annual Exhibition’s events started today, Sunday, at the Abu Dhabi Country Club. The revenues of the Exhibitionwhich will continue till May 7thwill be dedicated to settle inmates’ outstanding financial debts and provide assistance to their families.
Brigadier Al Shamesi stressed that Al Faraj Fund is continuing its humanitarian role and extending its charity work to aid insolvent inmates who had served their imprisonment period. The Fund grants them a new chance to start a decent life, and to protect their families against the negative effects of the absence of their breadwinners.
Furthermore, Brigadier Al Shamesi called upon all institutions of various sectors, businessmen, philanthropists, and benefactors to support the Fund. “This support will benefit the inmates at the Punitive and Correctional Establishments and guarantee their families a decent life. It will enable them to get back to their normal lives and reunite their families.” Brigadier Al Shamesi explained.
For his part, Colonel Abdul Hakim Al Suwaidi, treasurer of the Al Faraj Fund and Head of Case Study Committee said that the Fund has received from its sub-committees at the Punitive and Correctional Establishments a number of cases that fulfill the aid conditions. He also indicated that following the conclusion of the exhibition and viewing its revenues, the coming few days will witness the determination of number of insolvent inmates whom their outstanding financial debts will be settled.
