Abu Dhabi Media, one of the fastest growing, multi-platform media and entertainment organisations in the Middle East, announced today its participation in UAE Careers, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 22nd – 24th April 2014.
Abu Dhabi Media’s participation at Careers UAE, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, comes in line with the company’s employment and training programs set for UAE nationals, to equip them with the necessary knowledge of the media industry in the UAE.
In collaboration with several government entities as well as top universities in the UAE, Abu Dhabi Media, operating across broadcast, publishing, and digital media platforms, is constantly working on training Emirati students and attracting local talent.
Commenting on the participation, Mohammed Ebraheem Al Mahmood, Chairman and Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Media, said:

Abu Dhabi Media has gone through great efforts to attract individuals to the media sector providing them with the necessary skills required to develop their responsibilities. Emiratisation efforts across all the brands are evident with numbers reaching as much as 65 percent in Abu Dhabi Media Radio Network, and 80 nationals employed at Al Ittihad Newspaper, the highest number of Emiratis working at a daily newspaper in the UAE.
Abu Dhabi Media’s training programs are focused on developing the skills of young Emiratis in various disciplines within the media sector, including technical editorial, production, photography, among others.
Abu Dhabi Television provides training programs aimed at Emirati university graduates, in an effort to prepare the next generation of journalists and reporters. Abu Dhabi Sports TV has contributed to the development of a highly qualified Emirati workforce in sports media. Its representative’s and presenters are well-known sports specialists and figures. Abu Dhabi Sports continuously aims to attract more Emirati talent through specialized training programmes.
Al Ittihad runs several initiatives, one of which seeks to encourage young Emiratis to join the field of journalism, providing them with the support and skills required for success. Al Ittihad has ongoing collaboration and engagement initiatives with universities and academic institutions throughout the UAE.
A specialized training program was launched by The National to develop Emirati talent within English print journalism in the UAE. The program provides the trainees a one year 360 degrees internship to experience the paper’s different sections and be monitored by the different heads.
Abu Dhabi Media’s digital media brands are in constant communication with university students, regularly updating them on the recent trends in the digital media world.
