ZonesCorp is delighted to announce that it has signed an agreement with Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf at the Hannover Messe Industrial Fair. Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf has committed to doubling their presence in the Emirate within ZonesCorp’s Industrial City, which will create jobs with an 80% skill profile over the next 3 years.
In early 2014 Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf, with the support of ZonesCorp, was given the opportunity to expand the facility in ICAD III by a further 50%. This is seen both as a vital next step by the Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf and as a fortuitous opportunity, as over the previous 4 years since its inception, the ICAD III zone has become an attractive location for many companies to locate to create a cluster. Ansaldo Thomassen Gulf intends to extend the facility presence in ICAD III with a second detached structure providing further needed processed space and a larger storage capacity. The extended utilization will also solve other secondary site requirements such as parking and wider truck access to the site.
Ansaldo Thomassen has gained decades of OEM experience and knowledge over the last 50 years based on its heritage of Thomassen International, a Company that manufactured, installed, commissioned and maintained over 300 heavy duty gas turbines across the globe . In order to enhance the service offering to its customers, Ansaldo Thomassen will be expanding its centre of excellence in Abu Dhabi for the machining & repair of Gas Turbine Rotating Blades and other Gas Turbine Components . Ansaldo Thomassen is fully owned by Ansaldo Energia, a leading group in the Power Generation which is part of the Italian Strategic Fund - a government holding company with assets in excess of AED20bn, with interests in the energyy, telecommunication, pharmaceutical, insurance and other strategic sectors. Besides ATG, the new facility will also host, Ansaldo Energia, Middle East Management, and the heart of the Company’s Operation in the Middle East.
The contract was signed on Tuesday at a signing ceremony at the Hannover Messe.
