Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, announced today the launch of “Health Awareness Week,” a nation-wide initiative that is aimed at encouraging the society to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Under the initiative, Emirates NBD organises a week-long free medical check-up facility for its customers and employees at five locations, which was launched today at the bank’s headquarters in Deira, Dubai.
Organised in partnership with iCare Clinics and MSD, Health Awareness Week is also being conducted to mark the World Health Day, which falls every year on April 7th. A team of medical experts from the partner clinics perform check-ups including hepatitis C, blood, sugar, eye and skin tests.
Speaking of the initiative, Saif Al Mansoori, Deputy Head - Group Marketing and Branding, Emirates NBD said: “The rising prevalence of lifestyle health issues such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases pose serious threats not only to individuals but also the wider society. Health Awareness Week is a direct response to this alarming issue and is aimed at increasing awareness of emerging health risks in the UAE. Our free medical camps are also part of our continued efforts to promote preventive care, and we are confident that this week-long medical camps will provide health education and further spread the awareness of maintaining a healthy lifestyle."

The free medical check-up facility, which runs from 9 am to 2 pm, is set up at three Emirates NBD branches in Dubai, including the bank’s head office located in Deira on 6th April; Meydan office, Nad Al Sheba on 7th April; and Al Barsha branch on 8th April
The facility will also be made available for customers residing in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi at Sharjah main branch on 9th April, and Abu Dhabi main branch on 10th April.
Dr Ashraf Salama, Business Unit Director - Specialty Care, MSD, said: "The screening for Hepatitis C virus infection helps with the early detection of the disease, prevention of its transmission to other healthy individuals and to achieve high cure rates; especially if treated in the early phase of the disease."
