Naturalization, Residency And Ports Sector Organizes "Let’s Read Together" Book Fair

The Media and Public Relations Section at the Directorate General of Resources and Support Services, the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector organized a book fair under the slogan "Let’s Read Together”. The event marks the World Book Day celebrated every year in April.

Major General KhalifaHareb Al Khaili, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, toured the books section at the fair and reviewed the wide collection of books on display. He said: "It is extremely important to enhance the culture and knowledge of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ staff members and community members, as well as encourage them to read." He added that developing cognitive, personal and intellectual abilities is achieved with reading to enhance knowledge; calling upon all staff members to read extensively and get informed to enhance knowledge.

The book fair that was held in the reception hall at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs’ building, was attended by directors general, heads of departments, and officers, as well as male and female employees.

Lieutenant Colonel Taleb Abdul Karim Al Mahmoud, Chief of the Media and Public Relations Section, noted that the book fair falls within the sector's activities for 2014, as part of the social and cultural events to mark the World Book Day. He also explained that the two-day fair aims to highlight the sector's role in instilling the culture of reading and knowledge among all staff members. He also praised the generous sponsorship of the sector's leadership and the good response from the directors general, heads of departments, officers and individuals who attended the fair.
