As part of its social development program, Mubadala, the Abu Dhabi based investment and development company, has announced its fourth annual Mubadala Football Tournament, set to take place at Zayed Sports City’s main stadium from March 30th to April 3rd.
As part of its commitment to providing exciting platforms for community members to be fit and active, Mubadala is organizing the tournament which will see 16 teams competing for the championship title. Through the tournament, Mubadala is encouraging over 200 players to maintain a healthy lifestyle by playing a sport they enjoy in a fun and competitive environment.
Nadine Saleh Hassan, Head of Social Development and Partnerships at Mubadala said, “Mubadala is committed to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The tournament has become a well-established platform in the capital. While we are happy to see growing interest from semi-professional teams and players, we are proud to have loyal teams that have been participating in the tournament since its inception in 2011.”
This year, for the first time ever in the tournament, the players will compete outdoors at the Gulf’s largest multi-purpose stadium in Zayed Sports City Stadium. Last year, the tournament took place in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) during the holy month of Ramadan where United Team was crowned as champion. 2013 runners up Thunder will return this year for a shot at the top spot.
