Al Ain Traffic and Patrols Section at the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate took part in the seventh edition of “Umm Al Emarat Planting” festival and the “Made by Me” Festival. This participation is in pursuance of the section’s commitment to enhance community-based partnership at various government and private events and activities in Al Ain city.
Colonel Hamad Nasser Al Bloushi, Head of Peripheral Regions Traffic Department at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, Abu Dhabi Police indicated that Abu Dhabi Traffic Department pays great attention to community cohesion to spread traffic culture. “This is based on the firm belief in the positive role of private sector organizations, government bodies and civil society organizations as strategic partners in raising traffic awareness,” indicated Colonel Al Bloushi.
Colonel Al Bloushi noted that “Umm Al Emarat Planting” Festival is organized by Um Al Emarat High School in Al Hili, under the theme “Thank you Khalifa – Thank you Umm Al Emarat). The festival featured a myriad of fun activities as well as cultural, heritage and entertaining displays, and diverse traditional food.
At the Traffic Section’s pavilion, awareness-raising leaflets were distributed to students. Interactive sessions were organized to provide comprehensive traffic awareness by answering students’ questions and queries, in addition to a screening session of traffic-related documentaries. A number of traffic-themed gifts were also distributed to students.
On the same note, the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs organized the “Made by Me” festival, in cooperation with a number of public and private institutions that support this category. It is worth mentioning that one day will be assigned for each entity during the morning classes.
Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Chief of Al Ain Traffic Section, stressed the importance of educating students, who represent the most important target group of the awareness process. “This would contribute to increasing awareness of traffic laws among future generations, encouraging them to comply with these law and apply them willingly,” added Major Al Hemairi.
For his part, First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Acting Public Relations Branch Manager at the Al Ain Traffic Section noted that the section participated in the festival and set up a special traffic pavilion where it displayed its Polaris quad bike used to educate quad bike riders who enjoy riding these bikes in desert tracks. Moreover, visitors were acquainted with the functions of this bike and with the Traffic Education Patrol.
