Under the patronage of His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the U.A.E. Armed Forces, the Abu Dhabi Awards Organising Committee has announced new date of the ceremony which will take place on March 11th.
The Organising Committee said that it is looking forward to welcoming this year’s recipients of the highest civilian honour in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The awards are organised upon the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who is keen to preserve the legacy of the nation’s father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In addition to being attended by VIP guests, previous recipients and members of the Abu Dhabi community, it will be broadcast live on Abu Dhabi Al Emarat TV at 7:30pm.
During a six-week period in 2013, people from across the Abu Dhabi Emirate nominated fellow members of society who they felt deserved to be recognised for their selfless contributions to the community.
According to the organisers, people of all ages and nationalities are nominated, regardless of their age, nationality or gender, the recipients are individuals whose good deeds have contributed to supporting and benefiting the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s communities.
This includes Abu Dhabi citizens, residents and non-residents, as well as Abu Dhabi citizens performing good deeds internationally. Award recipients are selected based on their deeds and actions, not by the number of nominations received.
