The secondedition of the Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper (ADES 2014), the largest consumer electronics show in Abu Dhabi, is set tokick off tomorrow (February 26) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The four-day event that will run until 1 March will witness the participation of some of the biggest retail players in the electronic sector that arelooking to cater to the growing appetite for smart gadgets includinglatest mobile phones, IT products, consumer electronics, home and office automation appliances, security and control systems, sports and medical equipment, high definition TV and GPS systems.
ADES 2014 is expected to draw more than 100,000 visitors and generate over AED50 million in sales. Exhibitors are anticipated to leverage the platform to extendexclusive deals, attractive prices and bundled offers on the latest technology and consumer gadgets.
The announcement was made by Dome Exhibitions, organisers of the event, at a press conference held at ADNEC. The media briefing was attended by Greg Cherry, Director of Sales - Exhibitions, ADNEC, Sandeep R. Karajgi, Head of Commercial Operations, Plug-Ins, Mueez Rahman, Chief Operating Officer of E-City Electronics, JehasHabison, Purchasing Manager of Costless Electronics, and Antoine Georges, General Manager of Dome Exhibitions.
Addressing the media briefing, Antoine Georges, Managing Director of Dome Exhibitions, said: “The second edition of ADES builds on the overwhelming response received by the inaugural edition from both visitors and retailers. By stagingADES for the second consecutive year, we seek to further cement Abu Dhabi’s emerging position on the global technology map.
“This year,tech geeks can look forward to fantastic benefits andexclusive deals acrossa broader spectrum of consumer electronics. To complete the carnival atmosphere that the event conveys, we have lined-up exciting entertainment and family-oriented programmes that appeal to a wide cross-section of exhibition guests.”
A live stage show by the renowned Indian dancer and choreographer RaghavJuyalwill serve as a highlight of ADES 2014. Known as the ‘King of Slow Motion’, RaghavJuyal, whose stage name is Crockroaxz, is anticipated to draw huge crowds at hisdebut performance in the UAE.
For the convenience of visitors, ADES will provide free shuttle buses to ADNEC every hour between 11am until 11pm. Buses will be available at Al Wahda Mall and Abu Dhabi Mall in Abu Dhabi City and Safeer Mall in Mussaffah.
