Al Ain Zoo will be participating in the Annual Qasr Al Hosn Festival, to be held at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi from 20 February to 1 March 2014. An annual festival to give the UAE community the opportunity to experience the heritage of the Abu Dhabi Emirate through a wide variety of fun and educational activities, the Qasr Al Hosn Festival is designed to reflect over two and a half centuries of Abu Dhabi’s history.
The zoo’s participation reflects Al Ain Zoo‘s commitment to educate the public on the UAE’s rich heritage, including the diverse native wildlife species that are currently cared for at Al Ain Zoo. Commenting on this participation, H.E. Ghanim Al Hajeri, Director General of the Zoo & Aquarium Public Institution in Al Ain, said:
“Al Ain Zoo, under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairmain of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and of the Zoo & Aquarium Public Institution in Al Ain, is committed to raising awareness about the importance of environmental and wildlife conservation in the UAE. Throughout the 10-day festival period, the Al Ain Zoo team will be showcasing live shows including its unique bird show.
Al Ain Zoo, which is open daily from 9am to 8pm, is located on the UAE-Oman border and is a short drive from Dubai and from the UAE’s capital city, Abu Dhabi. With the majestic Jebel Hafeet and the rich expanse of Green Mubazzarah as its backdrop, Al Ain Zoo is one of the city’s leading attractions.
