ENEC is participating in the region’s largest careers fair to recruit young talent
The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) is participating in Tawdheef this year to seek the UAE’s best and brightest talent to join the employment opportunities in the various fields of the organization. ENEC is offering a range of exclusive scholarships to Emiratis attending the recruitment event, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from 3 – 5 February.
“We are committed to finding the most talented minds and train them to the highest standards of safety to develop and operate the UAE’s nuclear sector. We are looking for talents for both administrative and engineering fields” said Mohamed Al Hammadi, ENEC’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our Energy Pioneers program has aimed to build a national skill base to ensure a sustainable future for nuclear energy, an industry that will play a critical role in the country’s continued growth in future years.”
Since the Energy Pioneers program started in 2009, a growing number of young Emiratis have become interested in building their careers in this industry. At Tawdheef 2014, ENEC is looking to recruit Emiratis from a variety of fields and disciplines and will also utilize this platform to network with the country’s brightest science students.
ENEC will also provide details on scholarship opportunities available for its technical education program, the Higher Diploma of Nuclear Technology (HDNT). The HDNT program is run by the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic and prepares students for a specialist and hands-on career in the nuclear energy industry. The program offers a balanced mix of theoretical education as well as practical knowledge provided by expert nuclear trainers.
At the end of the program, students are recruited to ENEC and join the team in developing a safe, reliable and efficient nuclear energy program for the UAE. By 2020, ENEC expects to have more than 2,000 employees, with a target of maintaining minimum 60 per cent Emiratization. A total number of 292 talented UAE students have already been enrolled in the Energy Pioneers scholarship programs.
ENEC also offers scholarships for Emiratis wishing to pursue Bachelors and Masters Degrees in the fields of chemical, nuclear, mechanical and electrical engineering. Students have the opportunity to study in the UAE and USA’s top universities or at a Master’s program at the Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. A significant number of positions are also available for experienced professionals looking for new and exciting challenges.
