The Ministry of Interior has signed an agreement with 911 Occupational Safety and Fire Fighting Training Company to organize and promote the UAE International Fire Fighter Championship. The championship will be held on the sidelines of the International Exhibition for Security and National Resilience “ISNR Abu Dhabi 2014”, set to take place on April 1-3, 2014 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

The agreement aims to keep up with international developments and challenges to security and resilience efforts, and to familiarize people with the best practices, applications, and innovations. Furthermore, the agreement fosters cooperation with local, regional, and international partners to position the exhibition at the forefront of the best international exhibitions and conferences. The agreement will help increase high-profile turnout of local, regional and international participants, introduce the latest security and safety trends to the UAE, and encourage firefighters to develop their skills, fitness, and physical strength.

They will also be required to prepare the firefighters and rescue national team representing the UAE, and to provide them with the necessary support to ensure its success, in a manner that would reflect the reputation and status of the country. Formal invitations will be sent to Civil Defense and Firefighting Directorates in sister and friendly countries, to take part in the championship, and supervise the establishment and execution of the championship’s media plan, both in the UAE and abroad.

As part of the agreement, the championship will be promoted, and organized locally and internationally in order to meet the subcommittees’ administrative requirements and needs for organizing the championship. It also includes preparing the firefighters and rescue national team, submitting a comprehensive report on the championship, so as to evaluate the event and elaborate developments for future editions of the tournament; in addition to forming a joint team to provide follow-up and assessment of this partnership.

It is worth mentioning that the agreement shall be applicable for two consecutive editions of the International Conference for Security and National Resilience “ISNR 2014” as of the date signed.
