Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit is ready for an explosion of color, action and laughter, as IMG and Daman’s Activelife initiative announce the world-famous Color Run™ five kilometre event will be staged in the capital on 29th March, 2014.
The Color Run™, presented by the National Health Insurance Company – Daman through its Activelife initiative, is a unique celebration of health, happiness, individuality and giving back to the community.
After creating an unprecedented splash on Dubai’s event calendar with a kaleidoscope of color in December last year, the event is expected to attract thousands in Abu Dhabi. With no winners or official times, The Color Run™ presented by Activelife atmosphere will be alive with music pumping as runners become moving canvases, doused from head to toe in vibrant colored powder around the five kilometre course. On crossing the finish line, runners are greeted by a color throwing extravaganza at the ‘finish festival’.
Dr. Sven Rohte, Chief Commercial Officer of Daman, Presenting Sponsor of the event, said: “After the immense success of the Dubai event, there was no question of ‘if’, but of ‘how soon’ we would bring The Color Run™ presented by Activelife to Abu Dhabi.”
“Seeing the excitement, laughter and positive energy of Color Runners across the world proves that being active does have a positive impact on people’s lives,” added Dr. Rohte.
Dubbed the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”, the untimed event presented by Daman’s Activelife and organised by IMG, sold out days before entries closed in Dubai, with 8,500 people running, walking and dancing their way around the course.

Exploding in popularity since its January 2012 launch, The Color Run™ has become the single largest event series in the United States and is gaining traction around the world. In 2013, there were more than one million entries registered for over 100 international events.
Jennifer Leiras, a 2013 Dubai Color Runner, said: “It was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Dubai since moving here four years ago. My seven year-old and I did it with friends and she said that it was ‘the best five kilometres of her whole life’.”
Organisers are urging hopeful Abu Dhabi participants to sign up when entries open at 9am on Monday 10th February at www.thecolorrun.ae/abudhabi to ensure they are part of this unique event. Entries will close at 5pm on Saturday 22nd March, 2014, however organizers expect the event to sell out prior to this date.
Entries cost AED 140 and include a Gift Pack, an event t-shirt, sweatband and color pack. In keeping with The Color Run™’s tenet of giving back to the community, $1 from every registration will be donated to charity through Just Giving.
