Al Ain Police Receives EFQM "Committed To Excellence" Certificate
(5 February 2014)

Emirati Expressions: Realised, the third exhibition in the Emirati Expressions series, drew to a close this week following a resounding reception from art enthusiasts from across the UAE and beyond.

The exhibition, which opened on 30 October 2013, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, united six of the UAE’s leading artists in an exhibition that allowed them to ‘realise’ their previously unrealised artistic projects and dreams. The exhibition also united the broader Emirati art community through a series of workshops and events designed for adults, teens and children, including the immensely popular Artscape – a celebratory evening of live art, literature, poetry and music from some of the UAE’s most renowned artists.

Organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Emirati Expressions: Realised marked the third edition in the highly popular Emirati Expressions series since its inception in 2009. Due to overwhelming popularity, the Emirati Expressions: Realised exhibition was extended for an additional two weeks from 18th January to 1st February, to allow families, art enthusiasts, and visitors to the region a final chance to catch the remarkable featured artworks in this edition.

Maisa Al Qassimi, Programmes Manager in TCA Abu Dhabi’s Museums Department, and co-curator of Emirati Expressions: Realised says: “Today marks the end of the Emirati Expressions: Realised exhibition. It has been the most successful exhibition in the series yet. The support from the regional art community, residents of the UAE and visitors to Abu Dhabi has been truly overwhelming, and we are delighted to see how Emirati art has truly captured the attention and fascination of visitors to the exhibition.

“Emirati art has always been prominent in the UAE, and it is through exhibitions such as Emirati Expressions that we are able to show the true strength of artistic talent that has been nurtured in the UAE. Many future editions of Emirati Expressions will continue to capture the hearts and minds of art lovers everywhere, and continue Abu Dhabi’s growth as an artistic hub of the Middle East.”

Prominent Emirati artists featured in Emirati Expressions: Realised include: Abdullah Al Saadi, Ebtisam Abdulaziz, Layla Juma, Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim and Mohammed Kazem. The official Emirati Expressions: Realised book that offers a comprehensive insight into the history of art in the UAE and documents the artistic vision of this year’s six Emirati’s artists is available at Artyfact store in Manarat Al Saadiyat.
