"Sahel" Machine Renews Vehicle Licenses And Issues Replacements

The self-service e-payment machine available at the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department of Abu Dhabi Police enables citizens and residents to complete the procedures of renewing their vehicle registrations, pay fines and issue a replacement for lost or damaged registration cards in just two minutes. This announcement was made by Colonel Anwar Abdullah Al Mulla, Head of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department of Abu Dhabi Police. Colonel Al Mulla revealed that the department is considering making the “Sahel” e-payment machine available to government and private entities wishing to make the services provided by the machine accessible to their employees at their work place in order to save time and effort.

“The ‘Sahel’ machine underwent a trial period to ensure the accuracy of the registration procedures and the safety of the operations that has been activated to provide services to individuals,” noted Colonel Al Mulla.

Furthermore, Colonel Al Mulla stressed that Abu Dhabi Police is committed to providing outstanding services for citizens and residents, enabling them to obtain services easily, through the website or through e-Payment machines, like the “Sahel” machine. “Abu Dhabi Police is implementing global excellence standards to improve the quality of services by introducing a range of state-of-the-art technologies to the service,” Colonel Al Mulla pointed out.

He added: “The ‘Sahel’ machine is the first of its kind in the Middle East. Globally, it is called the self-service terminal (SST) or station. It is a fast, round-the-clock customer service terminal, equipped with sophisticated and secure electronic features designed to protect users’ data. It provides several secure methods of payment that allow customers to pay fines via credit cards; as well as to inquire about the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department’s various transactions.”
