Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan inaugurated the pediatric dental clinic on Sunday at the Emirates Park Zoo in Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi. The inauguration was attended by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Emirates Park Zoo, Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director of Burjeel Hospital; and a number of officials.

In his speech at the dental clinic’s inauguration, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan said: “The Emirates Park Zoo has become an important tourist destination at the state level and is always known for its distinct advanced ideas. In addition to its role in entertaining, it aims to educate and teach the new generation to follow the right track.” He also noted that inaugurating the pediatric dental clinic in the park demonstrates the development and convergence of ideas between the entertainment, health, and educational sectors in the state.

In his speech, Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Emirates Park Zoo, said: “The child is not always aware of the seriousness of his health condition in some cases. This requires parents to search for the appropriate method to receive treatment, and this is where the idea of establishing a pediatric dental clinic in order to change the stereotypical image of the doctor in the imagination of every child came from. The doctor’s image in a child’s imagination is usually associated with medical equipment, among other things. We wanted the clinic to be an incentive for children to take care of their health, and have the concept linked to something they love”.

“The inauguration of the pediatric dental clinic inside the park is an important occasion for the Emirates Park Zoo, especially because it is among the favorite destinations for the members of the public, ranging through various nationalities and societal segments, particularly children, students, and families,” he added.

Moreover, AL Nuaimi noted that inaugurating the pediatric dental clinic project inside the Emirates Park Zoo aims to enhance their access to therapeutic places, based on mutual efforts to best serve our society.

During the inauguration ceremony, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan reviewed the services, as well as the latest scientific findings in the treatment of children and the methods of dealing with their varying ages. At the end, he toured the Emirates Park Zoo to get acquainted with all the new elements.
