As part of the successful exhibition, Emirati Expressions: Realised,Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) organisedArtscape: The Harmony of Art and Poetry on 16 January at the Manarat Al Saadiyat. In celebration of UAE art, literature, theatre and music, the unique four-hour ‘Marathon of Arts’ event featured performances and readings by some of the most established and leading Emirati writers, artists, actorsand musiciansfrom the UAE art scene. TCA Abu Dhabi also announced at Artscapethat the exhibition, Emirati Expressions: Realised,which presents the previously ‘unrealised’projects of six Emirati artists, will run for an additional two weeks until 1 of February.
Artscape’sexciting line-up included poetry readings from celebrated UAE poets such as Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Khaled Al Jaberi, and Rawdah Al Bloushi, readings and performances by HabibGhloum, Yasser Al Neyadi, and Sumayyah AlDahesh, and music by Shireen Al Tuhaimi and NaseerShamma. Other artists that performedat Artscapeincluded Hassan Sharif, Adel Khozam, EbtisamAbdulaziz, AmeenaDheiban, Iman Mohammed, Cristiana di Marchi, Ahmed Rashed, Jamal Al Mullah, Nasser Al Thaheri, Mariam Al Saa’edi, Khaled Al Jaberi and Rawdah Al Bloushi, among others.
Maisa Al Qassimi, Programmes Manager in TCA Abu Dhabi’sMuseums Department, and co-curator of Emirati Expressions: Realisedsays, “We have been overwhelmed by the popularity of the exhibition, Emirati Expressions: Realised,since its opening and are proud to announce that we have decided to extend the exhibition bytwo weeks for visitors to enjoy it until February. In perfect unison with this, we were proud to present Artscape to art lovers in the UAE, which used the thematic artworks of the exhibition as a source of inspiration.”
The event, which was designed to entertain audiences of all ages, placed an emphasis on the UAE’s rich literary scene through the power of written and spoken word, with readings and performances from poets and writers who have expressed their sustained support to the Emirati artists in the current exhibition, Emirati Expressions: Realised.
