Total will demonstrate its long-term commitment to Abu Dhabi as a reliable and highly innovative energy partner at the 2014 edition of the World Future Energy Summit (WFES), with a delegation of more than 30 senior company representatives attending the event next week.The Total/SunPower delegation will be lead by Arnaud Breuillac, President Exploration & Production, and Bernard Clément, Senior Vice-President New Energies, Total.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Hatem Nuseibeh, President Total UAE and Group Representative said: “This year, Total will celebrate75 years of presence in Abu Dhabi and we are indeed very pleased to start 2014 with this strong presence and visibility at this 7th edition of WFES”.
Total has supported WFES since its inception in 2008 and is a Platinum Sponsor of this year’s event, to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Bernard Clément, Senior Vice-President New Energies, will address the Business Conference in the Panel discussion on day three, January 22nd sharing views with delegates on “Transforming the Energy Mix”, with 15% of renewable part of the global energy mix, while fossil fuels remain the energy carrier of choice, in particular with the emergence of unconventional oil and gas resources and significant activity in new exploration.
Matthew Campbell, Senior Director, Power Plant Products for SunPower, will offer his perspective on Solar Energy Projects Technology and Finance, on day two, January 21st. He will also be present the innovative SunPower Oasis Power Block with Integrated Robotic Cleaning System, during a Tech Talk on day two, January 21st.
As part of the exhibition, Total will showcase its industry-leading technologies in renewable energy on its stand, located in hall A of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Booth A210).
Total invited its affiliate SunPower, the global solar energy leader offering solutions unmatched in efficiency, reliability and performance, to showcase its advanced photovoltaic solutions on the stand. Among the technologies on display will be a mock-up of SunPower’s new robotic cleaning technology, capable of reducing water usage and improving the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE).
Also at the stand will be SunPower’s high-performance photovoltaic panels, along with a mock-up of the SunPower® OasisTM C1 Power Plant Solution.
In addition, a series of live presentations featuring Total and SunPower’s cutting-edge technologies will be delivered by senior Group experts in the stand’s auditorium during the whole exhibition.
WFES 2014 takes place from January 20-22 and is expected to attract an estimated 26,000 attendees.
