Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has continued its award winning streak – this time receiving ‘Best First Class Cabin’ at China’s 2013 Travel Awards.
The win acknowledges Etihad Airways’ commitment to delivering exceptional quality service in its luxurious Diamond First Class cabin.
Etihad Airways President and Chief Executive Officer James Hogan said: “We are delighted to have won China’s Travel & Leisure award for world’s best first class cabin.
“It caps a stellar year of wins and accolades for the airline – notably for our Diamond First Class – and is a great reward for the hard work and dedication of our front line staff who, every day, go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional guest experience.”
Theaward for Best Class Cabin follows the UAE flag carrier’s clean sweep of the 2013 Skytrax World Airline Awards’ First Class category in June, when it received all three awards – Best First Class, Best First Class Seats and Best First Class Catering – for the second year in a row. This year’s Skytrax win also marked the UAE flag carrier’s fourth consecutive award of worlds’ Best First Class.
The China Travel Awards trophy will take pride of place alongside other first class wins in 2013 - World’s Leading First Class at the World Travel Awards, held in Doha in December 2013; and Middle East’s Leading Airline First Class at the World Travel Awards Middle East, held in May 2013 in Dubai.
The annual Travel Awards are a co-presentation of China’s Travel & Leisure magazine, Travel & Leisure Golf magazine, and the Travel & Leisure official website. Travel & Leisure magazine and its associated mastheads are among the most popular travel titles in China.
