A number of children from the Abu Dhabi Police Nursery of the Sports Clubs and Activities Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ visited on Tuesday, the Emirates Park Zoo located in Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi. The visit falls within the activities of the Animals Week, which is organized by the police nursery to acquaint children to wildlife and the environment.
Captain Maryam Jassem Ali Said, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Police Nursery Section, indicated that the visit is part of the Animals Week organized by the nursery. It aims to acquaint children with the important concept of wildlife conservation, which would contribute to enhancing intrinsic social, moral and cultural values.
She said: “The zoo is the ideal place to introduce children closely to the concepts of environment, wildlife and nature. It was designed as a place of fun and learning for adults and children alike, as it provides visitors of all ages, especially children, with the opportunity to appreciate the natural world and get closely connected to nature and wildlife.”
The children toured the zoo and were introduced to the different kinds of domestic and wild animals, as well as the various birds’ species. They also fed the giraffes and the elephants.
