Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police took part in the ADCB Zayed Sports City 10km Pink Run. He lauded the marathon for the benefits to charity work, especially private health care centers.
At the end of the marathon, Major General Al Kutbi praised the distinguished organization of the event. He noted that the marathon is an open invitation for everyone to participate in supporting charity and humane work.
He also asserted that active participation has an essential role in creating the competitive sport spirit that the UAE is proud of. Highly evaluating the UAE efforts in creating the healthy sports environment that encourages practicing sports generally, and running specifically, he praised the technical and organizational success of the marathon.
Furthermore, Major General Al Kutbi illuminated on the fact that sports is the key component of a good health and the secret of success and superiority of minds. He pointed out that over 500 runners from all walks of life, ages and nationalities took part in the marathon. A remarkable segment that took part in this event was whole families running together. Major General Al Kutbi described this vast participation as an indication of the marathon success in fostering the awareness about charity work.
“This is an invitation for all to continuously practice sports. A healthy body can sustain a healthy and productive mind.” Major General Al Kutbi concluded.
