Lifeline Hospital & Lulu Conducts Free Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign In Abu Dhabi
(2 November 2008)
The Hospital In Association With Lulu Initiates An 18-Day Breast Cancer ‘Know The Difference’ Campaign

The Lifeline Hospital Group, a leading provider of healthcare in the capital city of the UAE, along with Lulu, is conducting a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. The campaign is will be held from October 28 to November 14, 2008. The 18-day campaign called ‘KNOW THE DIFFERENCE’ is taking place at the Lifeline hospital, Al Wahda Mall, Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre and Khalidiyah Mall.

As a part of the campaign, a ‘Pink Majlis’ has been set up at the malls to educate women in self examination and early detection of Breast Cancer. The hospital will conduct free triple tests, which include a clinical breast examination, radiological assessment and a pathological test, if required.

Speaking on the awareness campaign, Dr. Shamsheer V. P., Managing Director, Lifeline Hospital Group, said, “Breast cancer is the most common cancer to affect women, and mammography is the only screening method that’s been extensively studied and shown to be able to detect breast cancer early. We want to ensure that women are able to access information and learn about breast cancer. Hence, we want to encourage women to visit our “Pink Majlis” and have themselves trained.”

The campaign is being carried out at the Al Wahda Mall from October 28, 2008 to Nov 2 2008, the Madinat Zayed Shopping Centre from November 3, 2008 to November 8, 2008 and at the Khalidiyah Mall from November 9, 2008 to November 14, 2008. The campaign will be conducted at the Lifeline Hospital simultaneously along with the malls as well.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign is an annual event of the Lifeline Hospital Group, organized by Adline Advertising. Last year the campaign received tremendous response from the community at large where 500 mammograms were conducted for free at the hospital. The training classes were well acknowledged with approximately 5000 women attending to gain an insight into the disease.

The hospitals contribution towards spreading healthcare awareness won them accolades from Ministry of Health (MoH), UAE.
