“The ‘My Identity, my hallmark’ initiative aims to rehabilitate young people by enhancing their skills and developing their personalities with a view to empower them to unleash their talents and innovations,” said Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi from the Human Rights Department in the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior.
These remarks were made by Colonel Al Shehhi at the opening ceremony of the ‘My Identity, my hallmark’ community initiative organized by the Human Rights Department. The initiative, designed for juveniles at the Juveniles Care Centre in Abu Dhabi and children in Al Ain city, featured various events and was held at the Al Ain Police Officers’ Club.
Colonel Al Shehhi indicated that the initiative includes several training courses, notably the “Women’s role” and the “My Heritage complements my identity”. It also includes workshops such as the “Outstanding Intellectual” and “Innovate and Design in service of your nation”. “A heritage exhibition was also organized, under the theme ‘A generation, proud of their heritage, to build the nation’s future’. It casts light on students’ innovations, their love for the nation and their keenness to protect its heritage,” added Colonel Al Shehhi.
Al Shehhi reiterated the Human Rights Department’s keenness to implement the best societal initiatives aimed at providing care for the youth, by enhancing their skills and developing their personalities. This reflects the police leadership’s vision to implement initiatives that serve both children and their parents.
“Year after year, the department seeks to add variation to the content and goals of its initiatives. Students and their parents are engaged in workshops and various activities with a view to instill the national identity in young people’s soul. These activities are also designed to allow students to bring out their innovations and skills,” noted Al Shehhi; adding that participants in this program included 200 male and female students.
Colonel Al Shehhi listed the goals coveted by the Human Rights Department, namely; spreading the culture of volunteering; recognizing volunteering efforts exerted by sponsoring entities; and establishing community partnerships by communicating with various institutions and authorities across the country.
