Fucom, a leading GCC retailer, has opened its second supermarket in Abu Dhabi in Marina Square, Reem Island, under the ‘Géant’ franchise, on Thursday, 19 December. The launch marks the realization of Fucom’s aggressive growth strategy, which is aimed at opening more than 30 stores within the UAE, including the much-awaited Géant Hypermarket in Yas Mall in 2014.

Fucom is the master franchisee in the region for French hypermarket chain Géant and the supermarket, which opened in Marina Square, within the Paragon Bay, becomes the latest addition to Géant ’s portfolio of brands in the UAE, which includes Géant Hypermarkets and Géant Easy supermarkets and convenient stores, as well as Geant Online, the UAE’s first Internet-based hypermarket which opened in June this year. The supermarket in Marina Square is the second Géant store in Abu Dhabi, the first being the Géant Easy supermarket in Khalifa City A.
