The Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs Department of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters launched the “Friends of the Police” program on Sunday morning. The program is dedicated to the children of the officers, non-commissioned officers, civilians, and all staff members working at the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. A total of 110 officers’ children aged between 7 and 14 years old will take part in the program, which is taking place during the first semester vacation of the 2013-2014 academic year.
Colonel ArefSaif Al Shamesi, Head of Clubs and Sports Activities Department of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, stressed the ADP’s keenness to launch training, qualification, and cultural programs for the officers’ children in order to fill their free time with useful activities that will benefit them. He emphasized their desire to launch programs that help groom the future generations and make them aware of the importance of development and excellence in society.
The “Friends of the Police” Program’s activities, which commenced yesterday, will continue until the 26th of December. More than 110 officers’ sons and daughters will participate in the program. The program focuses on horse training and will take place at the Baniyas Equestrian Center. The program aims to train the children in becoming future leaders that are able to participate in sports championships as well as local and regional events. The children are trained by horse training specialists. The program’s activities also included a number of activities, including football.
