Bawadi Mall, the largest in Al Ain city, has held a series of entertainment activities to mark the end of the most successful year since inception. According to the mall management, an overwhelming response was received from tourists and visitors during the first 11 months of 2013, resulting in record number of visitors, driven by the variety of entertainment and shopping campaigns.
Statistics released by Bawadi Mall show significant increase in number of visitors during all months of 2013 compared to the corresponding periods last year. The highest increase of 13 per cent was in May 2013. The average footfall increase hit 5.5%, with a total number of 8,560,000 visitors from January to November 2013. More than 762,260 visitors visited the mall in November 2013 alone, an increase of 10% compared to November 2012.
Khalid Shraim, Senior Marketing Manager, Bawadi Mall said: “These figures are a clear proof of the lead position taken by Bawadi Mall as a preferred destination for tourists and visitors to the UAE. The mall has become one of the must-see destinations for tourists visiting the UAE. This is a tremendous success for the retail sector in Al Ain city and Bawadi Mall in particular. We believe that our marketing and communication strategies have played a pivotal role in hitting this record in the eleven months of 2013.”
“The figure of more than 8.5 million visitors to Bawadi Mall shows the level of competiveness for Al Ain city on the regional tourism map,” Shraim pointed out.
Campaigns organised in Bawadi Mall in December cover fields like entertainment, education, and social events featuring art exhibition, traditional bands performances, international street performers and classic cars exhibition.
The art exhibition has been organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, while the classic cars exhibition and traditional bands performances gained tremendous success. The international street performers visited all areas within and around the mall providing great amusement to visitors.
The art exhibition included paintings by renowned Emirati artists with the art pieces reflecting the Union Sprit. This exhibition comes at a time when the entire world is looking at the achievements in the UAE and getting an idea on the level of local talent.
Shraim said: “We thank the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development for choosing Bawadi Mall to organise this event. We truly value the participation of elite Emirati artists and the efforts made by the ministry to promote local art to the world.”
The ministry also distributed a booklet providing information about the paintings and the artists.
“We also organised classic cars exhibition, each painted in one of the UAE Flag colours, which is a new idea to the celebrations taking place in UAE malls,” Shraim said.
Bawadi Mall is also organising international street performers shows during December in The Main Atrium that has now become a destination for hundreds who are looking for entertainment and unique shows.
Bawadi Mall has 400 food & beverage, fashion, entertainment outlets, and it is one of the leading destinations for tourists and residents in the UAE.
