An Emirati Media Delegation Visits Emirates Park Zoo

Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, owner of the Emirates Park Zoo and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zoo emphasized that social responsibility is closely related to individuals and social groupings. He also explained that social development is a sacred duty impelling every Emirati to work on enhancing his society and region.

Al Nuaimi statement came yesterday, Monday, as a part of his meeting with a high media Emirati delegation that visited Emirates Zoo Park at Al Bahia, Abu Dhabi. Representatives of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority attended the meeting and viewed the Zoo’s landmarks and the latest construction development achieved. They praised the innovative ideas that are applied as environmental and social projects.

Al Nuaimi, owner of the Emirates Park Zoo and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zoo showcased the media delegation the latest future projects of the Zoo, specifically the butterflies’ park which will be the first of its kind in the Arab world and will contain 2000 butterfly and an Exhibition of insects.

The delegation, for its part, highlighted the importance of this environmental initiative as represented by the Emirates Park Zoo. They described it as a mini-global nature reserve as it embraces animals from all over the globe including the rare kinds, and represents a biological, animal, and plant variation. The delegation members asserted that the Zoo now has a central role in preserving natural elements of environment, and it provides an entertaining environment in a frame of innovation and creativeness that transforms the Zoo into one of the main attractive factors for local and foreign tourism.

The visitors also viewed the Heritage Village that aims at fortifying the concepts of Emirati national identity. They also praised the essential role the village has in introducing the Emirati cultural heritage to residents and tourists. It also showcases the close relation between the Emirati history and wild life.

The Emirati media delegation displayed the various sections of the Zoo and the developmental levels it has gone through. They also viewed the methods of protecting the animals and providing them with the suitable environment by having a cohesive team of experts and specialist in animal husbandry whether they were predators or not. The team also has incorporate specialists for taking care of rare animals such as white tigers, leopards, and the animals that have been brought from South America and Asia.

The visitors also attended African drums and magical performances, in addition to sea lion and elephant shows that the Zoo exclusively has as they are rare in the Arab world.

The delegation also had a tour in the new covered sections of the Zoo, which is considered as one of the biggest covered zoos in the world. The zoo contains various predators such as leopards, Siberian tigers, and white tigers.
