Yas Island on National Day was full of excitement as hundreds of participants gathered in an attempted to set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for ‘Largest Parade of Decorated Cars’. Despite narrowly missing the title, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) and the Life & Style Show UAE have praises Emiratis and expatriates for their phenomenal effort.

In total 638 participants arrived with fantastically decorated cars determined to beat the record. However, strict GUNINESS WORLD RECORDS guidelines saw only 171 passing the rigorous testing phase resulting in the UAE falling short of the title by just 46 cars.

Following the momentous effort of UAE residents, the Guinness World Records praised the turnout for its sheer vitality.

"On behalf of Guinness World Records it was a real pleasure witnessing the attempt for the largest parade of decorated cars. The spirit was beautiful and the cars were amazing," said Samer Khallouf, Project Manager GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.

For dmg events – owners of the Life & Style Show UAE which debuts its inaugural three-day run at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre this week – the record bid was a truly unique happening.

“We are thrilled to have been part of such an iconic day and we would like to thank everyone who participated in the parade. Those that were unable to make it to Yas Island to watch the unique car parade can view three of the best designs that have been selected to go on display at the Life & Style Show on the 5th to 7th of December where one car will also be named the ‘UAE’s Best Dressed Car’ by a panel of judges on December 5th. The show also comprises; Home & Living, Fashion & Beauty, Gizmos, Gadgets & Tech, Sport & Leisure, Toys, Hobbies & Games and over 20 fantastic free feature areas.
