HE Sheikh Nahyanbin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, and Sheikh Diab Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, visited the exhibition of old and modern photos. The exhibition takes place within the Statistics Center- Abu Dhabi’s initiative to display the largest statistical map of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the world, on the Abu Dhabi Corniche, to mark the UAE 42nd National Day celebrations.
The Police Music Band took part in the activities. The band played the National Anthem along with national and traditional musical pieces. A number of top officials at the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, together with a number of members of diplomatic missions, attended the event.
HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and Sheikh Diab Bin Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan were briefed by Colonel Saif Al Shamesi, Chief of the Cultural and Social Activities Section at the Clubs Department of the Abu Dhabi Police, who reviewed the journey of the Abu Dhabi Police since its foundation in 1957 until today, highlighting its old and new patrols and logos.
The exhibition introduces visitors to the evolution stages of the Abu Dhabi Police. It displays old equipment, uniforms, and the communications equipment that were used in addition to other old tools and vehicles used by police officers in the early stages of its establishment. It also displays the various modern techniques and the different services provided by the Abu Dhabi Police, giving a clear impression of the extent of progress achieved by the Abu Dhabi Police. Moreover, the photo gallery features a rare set of old photos documenting the historic stage of the evolution of the Abu Dhabi Police.
