The Ministry of Finance (MoF) hosted a number of activities to celebrate the UAE’s 42nd National Day at its headquarters in Dubai today. The celebrations were attended by MoF employees and gave them the opportunity to express their loyalty and thanks to the UAE and its wise leadership.
Commenting on this special occasion, HE Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs extended his warm congratulations to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; Their Highnesses the UAE Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, and wished the UAE leadership and its people a blessed National Day.
HE added: “This year’s National Day is a particularly special one, as we’re also celebrating the news that the UAE and Dubai in particular, has won its bid to host the World Expo 2020. This reflects our wise leadership’s determination to position the UAE as a global leader and to continue our progress as a nation. On behalf of MoF, I would like to congratulate the UAE leaders and their people on this incredible achievement. In addition, we are confident that our hosting of the World Expo 2020 will offer significant value to the world.”
The Ministry organised several National Day activities which included folklore shows, traditional UAE food and National dances which reflect the UAE’s heritage and culture. MoF also organised a similar National Day ceremony in its Abu Dhabi premises, on Tuesday 26th of November.
