One of the Middle East’s most inspirational speakers is getting ready to wow visitors at Abu Dhabi Alive where he will document his real life path to a fit, healthy, clean life.
Egyptian national Omar Nour, who lives and works in the UAE, was challenged by a friend to enter a local triathlon in 2007 when he was overweight, unhealthy and could barely run around a track. Today, he is a triathlon hero who lives and breathes the sport and will regale the audience at Abu Dhabi Alife with his ‘Fat to fit, it’s never too late’ motivational speech at 12:30pm, Saturday 30 November on the event’s main stage.
Abu Dhabi Alive has been buzzing since it threw open its doors to an excitable UAE crowd earlier this week. It is the first event of its kind where visitors can enjoy the fresh air while taking part in fun-filled health and fitness features such as interactive games, a rock climbing wall, fitness classes and cooking demonstrations, as well as get involved in a range of sports they possibly have never tried before.
Activelife by Daman,Principal Sponsor of the event, has recently appointed the Omar Nour as its ambassador to promote the healthy lifestyle brand.
“Omar Nour is the perfect person to promote our Activelife brand. His inspirational journey saw him transform his sedentary lifestyle into that of a potential Olympic medalist simply by taking the first step of joining a local triathlon. He demonstrates everything Activelife embodies which is the simple fact that all it takes to get fit is getting involved in community activities and commitment," said Dr. SvenRohte, Daman’s Chief Commercial Officer.
HayeteJemai, Exhibition Director at Informa Exhibitionssaid “We are extremely happy with the turn out of the event so far. We are looking forward to seeing more people, from all walks of life, come through the doors over the next two days, especially with the line-up of speakers we have scheduled.
“The concept of Abu Dhabi Alive is great. Nothing has been done like this before in the UAE and it’s exactly the event we need. Our aim is that visitors will leave the event with a more positive attitude towards their health and well-being.”
Government sponsor, Abu Dhabi Sports Council will also be on hand for the next few days promoting their vision of using the culture of sport professionalism, as well as systematic performance methods, to create a sport-proactive environment that will provide ample opportunities to develop sport and investment in Abu Dhabi.
Other features in Saturday’s main stage line up include a cooking demonstration from Slim ‘n’ Lite, a Go Organic talk, a dance show by Get Moving Fitness and Spa Centre and a knowledge quiz from Al Noor Hospital. Ahdaaf Sports Club’s certified coaches will also be offering football coaching for all ages and varying skill levels on the football field.
