Yas Island, the UAE’s prime leisure and entertainment destination, is adding another exciting route to its yas express complimentary island shuttle service, the Red Route, as of 1 December 2013! The new route will operate daily from 9am to 2am, connecting guests from all the hotels to its leisure components Yas Marina, Yas Links and Yas Beach. The route will interlink with the existing route at the hotels (Yas Plaza and Yas Viceroy) connecting all the mega attractions: Yas Central, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi.
Commenting on the yas express Red Route launch, Karim El Guanaini, Vice President of Yas Island Destination Management, said: “The addition of the new Red Route will now connect all major attractions on Yas Island from designated bus stops which makes it extremely convenient for guests staying on Yas Island to experience all the attractions and make the most of their stay. It is in our best interest to ensure we enhance the connectivity between all the attractions on Yas Island, providing guests with a value added service that enhances their overall experience and convenience.”
The new Red Route adds further value to the popular service due to its extended operating hours and new service points as the existing Blue Route only operates daily from 9am to 9pm. “With the expansion of the Yas Marina there’s all the more reason for our guests to enjoy dinners and late night entertainment in the vicinity which is why the new Red Route becomes a vital addition to the yas express as it will provide transportation past the usual operating hours,” added El Guanaini. Yas Island now encourages its guests to explore widely on the island as the non-stop yas express shuttle service connects all the favorite attractions.
Yas Marina is home to seven unique restaurant concepts namely Diablito Food and Music, a Spanish tapas restaurant; Iris a Beirut-based rooftop lounge and restaurant; Stars ‘N Bars an American style sports bar and restaurant, Cipriani Italian fine dining; Café D’ Alsace a brassiere-style café and bakery serving French-German specialties; Rozanah a contemporary Lebanese restaurant and Aquarium a casual seafood restaurant. There’s also a fun play area for children and interactive water fountains which can keep the toddlers occupied while yacht and super yacht enthusiasts can explore the finer things in life as some of the world’s most beautiful yachts are moored in the docks.
Yas Links is an award winning links golf course designed by Kyle Philips, ranked 24th World’s best Golf courses outside the USA (Golf Digest USA, 2012). 1.8 million cubic metres of material were dredged to from the 18 Holes Championship Golf Course and is open to public and the perfect breakaway from the city for golfers to practice their swing.
Yas Beach considered Yas Island’s exclusive shore, opens from 10am to 7pm daily, is situated on the South of Yas Island and offers food, drinks and sheesha on order. Facilities at Yas Beach include a licensed Beach Bar and changing rooms and showers for men and women and use of sun-loungers and parasols are included in the admission fee. The watersports available on site include rental and lessons in: stand up paddle surfing, kayaking, guided Mangrove tours by kayak, windsurfing and sailing.
yas express also operates the Saadiyat route shuttle service with three morning pickups from St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, dropping guests to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld. The afternoon service offers three pickups from Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld, dropping visitors back to each of the respective resorts on Saadiyat.
With more attractions and activities being developed on Yas Island, yas express is well on its way to facilitate the connectivity of the island’s entire leisure offering.
