ART, TALKS & SENSATIONS is a new international cultural event dedicated to contemporary creation and thoughts. The first edition theme is : "What aesthetics is the Arab world creating today?"

ART, TALKS & SENSATIONS was initiated by His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, to take place each year in Abu Dhabi. The first edition will be held in the Grand Auditorium of the Cultural Foundation, headquarters of the ADACH whose general director is His Excellency Mohammed Khalaf Al-Mazrouei.

ART, TALKS & SENSATIONS has been conceived by Fabrice Bousteau, curator, as a "symposium-performance" in two acts and sixteen scenes alternating intellectual debates and artistic performances, video projections, poetry, live DJ set...

ART. Several artists will present their work: Adel Abidin, Youssef Nabil… Some other have been especially commissioned by Art, Talks & Sensations: Kader Attla will create a video on the visit of the Department of Islamic Arts at the British Museum and the Indian graphic novelist Sarnath Banerjee a science-fiction cartoon imagining Abu Dhabi in 2028. A special preview of an extract of the film Je veux voir (I want to see), 2008, with Catherine Deneuve will be commented by the duo of artists Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige.

TALKS. The worldwide known philosopher Peter Sloterdijk will develop a reflection about the « culture of insulation ». Internationally famous curators and art critics such as Ferestheh Daftari (assistant curator at the MoMA), Alka Pande (Indian art critic) and Martina Corgnati (Italian art critic) will define the most recent issues around contemporary Arab art. One of the round tables entitled “The boom of contemporary Arab art” will be hosted by major actors of the art market like Isabelle de La Bruyère (director at Christie’s for the Middle East region).

SENSATIONS. All the «symposium-performance» will be musically illustrated live by a set compiled by the sound designer Michel Gaubert the top name in music for fashion shows. At the end of the show, the audience together with the participants will be invited to share a buffet supper prepared with products from the desert by the chef of the three stars Paris restaurant “L’Arpège" Alain Passard and the cook of Abu Dhabi’s Princely family.
