(26 November 2013)

The Al Ain Traffic Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate in the Abu Dhabi Police carried on a field awareness campaign targeting drivers interested in decorating their vehicles to participate in the 42nd National Day. The campaign included decorative gadgets stores in Al Ain and Al Haili Industrial Zones.

Major Salah Abdullah Al Hemairi, Acting Head of Al Ain Traffic Section, stressed the importance of abiding by the decoration guidelines, and refrain from blocking the flow of traffic, parking on main and internal roads, paring at bus stops and taxi stands, obstructing the traffic, carrying passengers more than the permitted number, sticking any part of the body out of the vehicle’s windows or sunroofs, installing parts that increase noises of vehicles or performing any alterations to the engines. He also called upon the public not to use all types of sprays by the driver or passengers, tint the windshield or the driver’s window or change the color of the vehicle.

Al Humeiri clarified that First Lieutenant Nasser Khalifa Al Shamesi, Acting Public Relations Branch Manager, has distributed the awareness brochures and booklets issued by the directorate to drivers and shop owners. The illustrative publications clarify completely the allowed and prohibited actions in terms of decorating vehicles, so that the ornaments added don’t affect the full clarity of the driver’s vision, change the color of the vehicle or cover the plate numbers.

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police, called upon drivers to adhere to the “Spirit of the Union” and the traffic Laws, in addition to following the instructions of the traffic police on parades and festivities celebrated in such dear occasions. These regulations are meant to ensure that no reckless behaviors and attitudes result in accidents that trouble the festive atmosphere and lead to mortalities or injuries.
