Emirates Motor Company (EMC), authorized distributor of Mercedes - Benz in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the flagship company of Al Fahim Group, announces 7% increase in sales compared to last year, and coinciding with the expansion of its iconic facility on Airport Road to include the long-awaited EMC Express Service Center and a dedicated Mercedes-Benz approved used cars showroom in the capital.
“Ever since the rebirth of our Airport Road showroom in 2011, we have witnessed healthy walk-in traffic and incredible sales performance. Examining the last couple of years, we are proud to have grown by 34% since 2011 where from 2011 to 2012 was the big jump confirming a boost in the market, and from 2012 to 2013 with 7% from January to October,” explained Mr. Kamal Rafih, General Manager of EMC.
Continuing on this streak of total quality management, innovation and excellence, last month EMC was deservedly awarded the honorable Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) Gold Category 2013. Moreover, further confirming the company’s excellent sales performance, Daimler Middle East & Levant (DMEL) presented to EMC the Best Ever Sales Month Award for September 2013.
Specifically, EMC revealed that the sports utility vehicle (SUV) range are the fastest growing in popularity this year compared to the year before showing an increase of 52%, with the GL showing enormous progress at 124% upsurge. On the other hand, the E and C classes continue to be the most sought after Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the market. Meanwhile, observing the development of the commercial vehicle division, an impressive 46% has also been reported.
Mr. Rafih continued, “With our used car sales making up over 20% of our new car sales, we bravely took the strategic decision to create a dedicated used car showroom, much larger and more elegant than the previous one, to accommodate this flourishing market. The new and spacious pre-approved Mercedes-Benz vehicles showroom may, now, comfortably line up 35 cars.
“We have also invested in a conveniently located new Express Service Center in the Airport Road facility, for fast after-sales jobs which take two hours or less,” he added. Additionally, EMC has also announced that the upgrade of extended warranty coverage on all Mercedes-Benz cars sold by Emirates Motor Company starting in September 2013, to 150,000 km or 5 years, whichever comes first.
Looking back, EMC’s Airport Road showroom is a historical landmark in the city as it was one of the first luxury facilities to open in the country. After celebrating the showroom’s renovation in 2011, today EMC commemorates its transformation from a showroom to a facility housing the Express Service Center, a dedicated used car showroom and a new car showroom highlighting EMC’s vision to provide best-in-class services and solutions.
