Demonstrating its ongoing commitment toimproving performance and ensuring that the quality of its work falls in line with the international standards and practices, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) recently received two new certificates from the International Organisation for Standardisation ‘ISO’. The two certificates, Customer Satisfaction, Complaints Management – ISO 10002 and Quality Management Training System– ISO 10015, bring the total number of the Ministry’s‘ISO’ certificates to 6, all across different areas.
The Customer Satisfaction, Complaints Management certificate aims to build communication channels between the Ministry and its clientele to identify their needs and expectations, improve government efficiency and raise the quality of services to better satisfy customers. .On the other hand, the Quality Management Training System aims to develop the Ministry’s strategies and systems, along with how they are implemented, as well as to upgrade the level of training operations available, which affects the quality of services offered by the Ministry.
Commenting on this success, HE Younis Haji Al Khouri, Undersecretary of MoF, said: “MoF always seeks to implement the regulations set by the International Standards Organisation in its various services and systems.The Ministry considers these certificates as a step towards global leadership in the management of financial resources and in achieving sustainable and balanced development.”
HE added: “The strategy and plans adopted by the Ministry had a significant role over the years to position MoF as one of the first government entities to commit to the rules of the International Organisation for Standards in the UAE and in the region.”
The Ministry has previously received a certificate on Information Security Management System – ISO 27001, Environmental Management System – ISO 14001, Occupational Health and Safety Management System- OHSAS 18001 as well as the Quality Management System – ISO 9001. This certificate was recently renewed and aims to analyse theMoF’s processes, document them, measure their effectiveness and control how they are applied, to ensure that the Ministry continues to deliver the best results and to safeguardthe continuous improvement and development of Ministry operations.
MoF received its first ISO certificate,Quality Management System- ISO 900, in 1999, whereby the Ministry was considered to bethe first government entity to receive such a certificate in the Middle East.
The Ministry continuously seeks to improve its levels of performance byapplying international best standards in the various responsibilities it has been entrusted with, in an aim to achieve its strategic vision and support the ongoing development of the UAE federal government.
