The 35-year-old Italian culinary genius who has become an heir apparent to the mission of Milan’s famed ‘Il Luogo’ art-cum-fine-dining restaurant is heading out to Abu Dhabi.
Chef Fabio, who now shares responsibility for the kitchen at the two-Michelin-starred ‘Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia’ – a 50-year-old Milanese institution where the walls are decorated with art works curated by acclaimed Milanese artist Paolo Ferrari, has signed up for a star appearance at Gourmet Abu Dhabi – the 16-day culinary festival which runs February 4-19 next year.
Chef Pisani, who is driving the third generation of continuous renewal of traditional Italian cuisine at Il Luogo, will be hosted at BOCCA, the lively contemporary Italian dining outlet at the Hilton Abu Dhabi and winner of the Best Italian Restaurant at the Time Out Abu Dhabi Restaurant Awards 2013, where he will run restaurant promotions from February 15-18. Chef Pisani will also stage a culinary creation workshop and host a chateau dinner.
“Fabio Pisani is the last word in contemporary Italian cuisine and, as such, is an incredible fit for BOCCA,” said Saco Musch, Executive Chef, Hilton Abu Dhabi. “The art-meets-cuisine ethos of Il Luogo combined with Chef Fabio’s own artistic culinary creations, and his theatrical style, has made his Milan restaurant a cool hang-out for the international in-crowd and we expect BOCCA’s clientele to make him feel at home.
“All our staff are eagerly awaiting his arrival and are looking forward to working with someone who is regarded worldwide as a guru of modern, contemporary Italian cuisine.”
Fabio Pisani is the second Italian culinary maestro to sign up for Gourmet Abu Dhabi following the recent commitment of two-Michelin-starred Marco Sacco who will headline restaurant promotions at 18°, Hyatt Capital Gate from February 5-8.
“Italian food is a hot favourite with residents and visitors alike and in two weeks in February we’ll be serving up the very best Italy has to offer,” said Noura Al Dhaheri of Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), which presents Gourmet Abu Dhabi.
