The Arab Organization for Social Responsibility, in cooperation with Tatweej Academy,honored the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. This recognition came during the second cycle of the annual award to honor social responsibility activists in the Arab world. The Excellence Golden Shield and the Golden Certificate of Excellence were granted to the Abu Dhabi Police for being among the top police leadershipsto apply social responsibility. These awards also acknowledge the police’s achievements over the past years andits commitment to organizing events and activities that serve the community in addition to its active participation in similar activities held by other entities.

Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of the Community Police Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, received the award during the annual ceremony recently held at the Atlantis Hotel in Dubai. This ceremony saw the honoring of several governmental leaders, officials, ministries, and public institutions from a number of Arab countries thathave made remarkable achievements and initiatives in various fields.

Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairomstressed that the honoring of the Abu Dhabi Police by many independent institutions and bodies represents the Abu Dhabi Police’s effortsto launch, organize,and participate in societal events. These efforts are in pursuance of a clear strategy set by the leadership to serve all segments of society, which stems out of its responsibility to support and encourage community action.

“Throughout the more than five decades of its existence,the Abu Dhabi Police has managedto assume its basic duties in law enforcement, to achieve security and tranquility in a modern social structure, based on its strategic plan that includes the social responsibility principle,”noted Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom.
Furthermore,Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom reiterated the Abu Dhabi Police’s commitment to spread and implement the concept of sustainability. “It has enhanced its operations and activities tofulfillenvironmental, safety, and public health criteria and standards. It has also adopted several policies and initiativesto implement the social responsibility concept,” he continued. Moreover, he added that the Abu Dhabi Police has established an organizational unit within its administrative structure called the Social Responsibility Branch, and prepared a specialized methodology.

He indicated that as per the requirements of the social responsibility principle,the Abu Dhabi Police GHQdedicates significant attention to its staff members and their families by providing them with the best health, entertainment, and training services. It also endeavors to rehabilitate and train people with special needs, to provide them with jobs and integrate them into society. Additionally, it seeks to rehabilitate inmates of the Punitive and Correctional Establishments to prepare them for their release. It takes care of the inmates’ families, and tries to solve family issues amicably within its police stations before they escalate; it is also instrumental in organizing several societal initiatives and events, and participating in humanitarian activities. The organization and the academy lauded the Abu Dhabi Police’s participation and contribution in social events and activities, as well as its pivotal role inserving society.
