H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, congratulated the leadership and people of the U.A.E. on the dominant success of 2013 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which concluded yesterday evening at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

H.H Sheikh Nahyan said the success of the sport event in Abu Dhabi is the latest addition to the prominent achievements of the U.A.E. under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brethren, Supreme Council Members and Rulers the Emirates.

H.H Sheikh Nahyan also congratulated His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council of the emirate of Abu Dhabi, on the success of the event which was the fruit of sincere efforts, hard work and partnership between all government institutions, and reflects the U.A.E.’s huge capabilities in management and organisation of sports events.

He hailed the efforts of the supervisors of Yas Marina Circuit and government institutions for their collaboration for the success of the Formula 1 event and the promotion of image of U.A.E. at the international event which was followed by millions of fans worldwide.

H.H Sheikh Nahyan also noted that Formula 1 races, hosted by Yas Marina Circuit since its inception in 2009, has contributed to the promotion of Abu Dhabi globally, and contributed to boosting the emirate’s tourism and economy and promoted its status on the global sports map, thanks to generous support from the UAE wise leadership as well as their great interest in promoting sports in order to promote rapprochement between peoples of the world.

He also congratulated the Red Bull team driver Sebastian Vettel who won the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

H.H Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed described Yas Marina Circuit is among the best Formula 1 venues and an advanced and world-class sport facility that is a source of pride for the UAE and all Arab countries.
