As part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band performed a number of its national and popular pieces to visitors of Yas Water World Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band’s performances included several traditional pieces of its music portfolio, such as “Sir Bu Sultan”, “Aalakhalifa Salam”, in addition to a number of pieces from the Emirati folklore, including “Al Aialah”, “Al Bawab”, and “Al Harbiya” among others, which were highly applauded by the audience.
First Lieutenant Ibrahim Al Hosani, the Music Education Branch Manager at the Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized that “the Police encourages and embraces creativity”; stressing the Music Band’s keenness to present new and varied musical pieces. He also noted that the band succeeded in delivering a high-quality performance and demonstrating its skills during the various participations.
“Police Music initiatives continue to familiarize the public with it’s the role of the police band and its national contributions. It highlights its beginnings and the stages of its development during the past five decades,” he stated.
Mike Oswald, General Manager of Yas Water World, praised the Police Music Band’s high-quality performance, which impressed the public who broke in rapturous applause.
Oswald expressed his delight to host such distinguished events at the park: “The public clearly enjoyed the performance and interacted with the band, which created a fun-filled ambience throughout the park”.
The Abu Dhabi Police Music Band continues to perform its national and traditional music for the public, as part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations to mark its establishment in July 1963. The celebrations, which started on July 13, will run until December, to mark the UAE National Day.
