The traffic awareness pavilion organized by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, within the Ministry of Interior’s pavilion in the National Show for Society Awareness and Humanitarian Services “Taweya 2013” attracted a significant public turnout. Visitors were acquainted with the efforts exerted to promote traffic awareness to reduce traffic accidents and their resulting deaths and serious injuries.
Lt. Colonel Jamal Salem Al Ameri, Head of the Public Relations Section at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police reiterated the attention devoted by the directorate to this end. It reflects the priority of the Abu Dhabi Police to make roads safer and the societal interaction methodology with the aim of taking part in all societal events and exhibitions to promote traffic culture.
“Displayed at the traffic awareness pavilion is the cutting-edge “Sniper” radar. Also included were traffic awareness programs, distribution of traffic-related publications and souvenirs, traffic-related competitions, theatre plays, traffic patrols, and the famous Education Patrol,” indicated Lt. Al Ameri. He added thatthe public was acquainted with the efforts exerted through the Abu Dhabi Traffic Awareness Program to Reduce Traffic Accidents titled “Together”, recently launched on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. ”This allows the various segments of society to share their opinions on traffic safety issues,” he continued.
The traffic awareness pavilion also acquaints visitors with the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic-based societal initiatives. These initiatives include: “The Best School Abiding by Traffic Rules” initiative that aims to enhance the educational sector’s role; the “Best Labor Camp Abiding by Traffic Rules” initiative that aims to raise traffic awareness among workers; the “Best Young Driver” initiative; and the “Best Family Abiding by Traffic Rules” initiative.
