His Excellency Nasser Al Nowais, Chairman of Aswaq Management and Services and Chairman of Rotana Group inaugurated the much anticipated Tachi Pintor Art Exhibition yesterday at ‘AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS,’ Abu Dhabi’s first standalone high-end luxury shopping destination.
Following the unveiling of his portrait of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Tachi then proceeded to paint a selection of live canvases, including a portrait of Khaled Al Qubaisi, the first Emirati driver to compete in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe in France. Tachi will be continuing his paintings in front of live audiences at AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS daily from 7 to 8 pm until 6th November 2013. The exhibition also showcased paintings of Formula 1 drivers Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso.
Commenting on his first exhibition in the region, Tachi said: “It truly is an honour to be here in Abu Dhabi and I am grateful to AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS for hosting my work. I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity to paint Khaled Al Qubaisi in front of a live audience and as this is my first exhibition in the region, I am hoping to leave a long-lasting impression on the flourishing art scene in the UAE. ”
Richard Foulds, Head of Property Management at Etihad Towers added: “As the Etihad Airways Formula 1 Grand Prix lands in Abu Dhabi this weekend, we are delighted to be hosting Tachi’s Formula 1-themed exhibition at AVENUE AT ETIHAD TOWERS – now a premier destination for art in the capital. We look forward to welcoming UAE residents, tourists and race enthusiasts to see his work and to witness first-hand the evolution process of a painting.”
Originally from Altea, Spain, Tachi specialises in portraits of famous, historical, and culturally diverse figures. His passion is evident in portraits that reveal the true character of his subjects, using extravagant use of colour and brushstrokes. An animated live painter, Tachi has built an enthusiastic fan base from his live paintings at London’s Hard Rock Calling 2012.
The Tachi Pintor Art Exhibition marks the sixth exhibition to be held at the luxury shopping destination, reflecting its role as a centre for fine and applied arts in Abu Dhabi, and further enhancing its commitment to cultivating culture in the UAE capital.
The Tachi Pintor Art Exhibition will be on display until 6th November 2013 daily from 10am to 10pm Saturday through Thursday, and until 11 pm on Friday.
