Over500 healthcare professionals and an international faculty convene today as the International Oncology Conference, held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan, Abu Dhabi’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, kicks off at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Abu Dhabi. The conference is accredited for 14 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours by Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
Themed under “Improving cancer care with early detection and prevention”, the two-day conference is organized in partnership with Burjeel Medical City and the Scientific Committee to leverage knowledge, promote education and build awareness about oncology - placing the patient at the heart of all the efforts and discussions.

To ensure academic excellence for the UAE’s most frequent types of cancers – Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Cervical Cancer and Colorectal Cancer - the conference has been divided in to 4 parts and 8 sections to make the discussions and learning comprehensive. Each session is slated to be highlyinteractive withlively debates to address early detection, prevention, cancer treatment, rehabilitation and patient management to make it a truly knowledge sharing platform. The event will also provide a professional platform for the clinicians to network and collaborate.
Speakers at the event include global pioneers and experts from USA, UK, Austria, Egypt, Indiaand UAE. Some of the international eminent speakersinclude Dr. Charles Lowdell, UK; Dr. James Morre, USA; Prof. Dr. Karin S. Kapp, Austria; Dr. Eric Shulze, US Board Certified;Dr. Mohsen Mokhtar, , Egypt and Dr. Harit Chaturvedi, India. In addition, many eminent and high caliber professionals from UAE are also part of the faculty.
